My Injury
By cal on August 10, 2009 - 0 commentsHello All,
Here is a youtube video link to view my injury. I am running on a treadmill and if you watch the video at around 2:20-25 and 2:40 you will see my left leg jerk slightly. This is the spasm I have been dealing periodically with since December 2006 & then constantly since August 2007.
Here is the video:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Kind regards!

So what has happened in the last 28 days?; a little and a whole lot all at once. July 4th 2009, I took my first running steps since the beginning of March. My first workout would make "Gallowalking"(Google it: http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=Gallowalking&btnG=Search&meta=) or the "Running Room" training programs appear overwhelming.

By cal on June 3, 2009 - 1 commentHello All,
I am not sure if anyone checks this blog anymore. The mini-break I took from updating my blog in January expanded to a full-on hiatus. I would love to inform everyone that I am healed and training full time again, but that would be completely inaccurate. Yet, I think the quote above sums up where I have been and where I am going quite well. However, I am at least undergoing some treatment. As most of you know I have bounced around from the various doctors and therapists around Southwestern Ontario and have had no progress; I mean "zero" progress.
Can you hear me?
By cal on January 21, 2009 - 0 commentsHello All,
Sorry for the hiatus from my log. I have been overwhelmed with life lately and this is one part that I had to let go of over the past 8 weeks. I have had some life twists and turns lately and I will update you about them as I go, but today I want to write about where I am at with my injury.
New Memories with Old Friends
By cal on November 7, 2008 - 0 commentsThis past week I flew down to the warm weather of Southern Texas to attend an old team-mates wedding. As we were driving back to the airport one of my best friends said how great it was to make new memories with old friends. I hadn't really thought that much about it until then, but keeping in touch with old friends really takes an effort. As we go through our lives we often become so self-focused and unaware how quickly time passes.
Mother's Milk
By cal on October 22, 2008 - 1 commentIf anyone has ever trained with Pete G and the folks at Tri-City Track Club they know exactly what this title means. Pete's go-to workout is "Minuters"; 1' uptempo, 1' easy. Over the years I have completed this workout more than you would expect. I even remember one day before the 2005 World Cross Country Championships the entire Canadian Men's team all did "Minuters" together. It was a pretty cool experience.
A Sunday Morning Bike Ride
By cal on October 2, 2008 - 0 commentsThis past Sunday I attended the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon. As in Ottawa I coasted the 42.2km on a bike. I went down to watch a friend of mine Steve Drew attempt to qualify for the 2009 World Championships in Berlin. Minus the high humidity the early morning mist and calm conditions provided the illusion of a great day for running a fast marathon. However, as raced time approached the weather pushed through breezy to swirling winds prevailed. The end result of this weather change were slower times and exhausted athletes. Steve came up short after a super effort.
Finally Track and Field has started at the Olympics
